Pay it Forward

13 Oct, 2010

Have you been wondering what has been happening in the Village Car Park over recent months?

It’s the Elders Pay It Forward Auctions!!

How does it work?

For every property that sells under auction conditions, Elders donate $250 to any local non-profit making organisation of the vendor’s choice.

Also Elders with other local business support from McCarthys Bakery and The Plaza Quality Meats hold a sausage sizzle on every auction day and the proceeds go to a local charity or non profit making organisation. Charities that have benefited to date are Heartfelt House, The Cancer Council, Help Mel Find a Cure, Alstonville CWA, Camp Quality, The Rescue Helicopter, Alstonville Girl Guides, Rous Public School and many more.

Niall Mulligan from Lifeline Northern Rivers who was nominated by Nonie Kennedy when her property sold, says that “Elders Pay It Forward Campaign is a wonderful community initiative. Not only does it help fund not-for-profits and charities but it provides a great opportunity for local businesses and charities to recognise and support each others work. Lifeline Northern Rivers is delighted to be the recipient of a Pay It Forward contribution from Elders Alstonville and wishes the campaign continued success in the future.”

Troy and Krysti MacRae, Directors of Elders live in Alstonville with their 2 daughters and say that living and working in the community creates a special bond with local people and you become very aware of local needs. They say that Elders Alstonville support numerous local charities and organisations and this is just one more way they can pay it forward and hopefully make even a small difference.

If you would like to be involved in the Pay It Forward campaign give Elders a call on 6628 0000.
