A Good Feel for the Market
As we are now only two weeks off settlement – we want to thank Gordon Perry for his advice and assistance in selling our house.We selected him as the agent to sell our house because he explained the different methods we could use to advertise and sell the house, and he had a good feel for the market in our suburb. He provided realistic advice on what the property was worth and had an open and friendly manner which we thought would work well selling our home. When we decided to market out property in Melba we initially approached a number of real estate agents. To be quite honest, we were taken in by the high profile of these agencies but were quite disappointed with their attitude to customer service once we spoke with them.Gordon Perry was a familiar face long before we started to search for an agent. He had left calling cards on our door previously and actually won our contract by 'walking the beat' in Melba to find potential houses to market.
Gordon's initial appraisal of our property and his preparation of a marketing plan were impressive. It was through his personal approach and his enthusiasm and dedication that convinced us to use Elders Belconnen as our marketing agency.
At all times we felt Gordon answered our questions honestly and he could find a positive angle to any situation. It also impressed us that he was a down to earth person and that he drove a modest car. It suggested to us where his focus was and it was not on flashy first impressions. His suggestions for presenting and marketing our property were practical and very useful.
He was responsive in meeting our needs and was almost always available when we needed him. When he was not available he returned our calls as soon as he was able.
At this point we must also praise the assistance given to us by Suzi Wells and her contribution to the successful marketing of our property. She took the time to familiarise herself with our house and the locality so that she could advertise it in the best possible light. Her preparation of the Canberra Times advertisements and the Allhomes site were exceptional and we believe, contributed to a very quick sale.
We are delighted that our property sold in just over three weeks after being listed, and for a price that was better than we had originally anticipated.
