Bendigo - is one of regional Australia's grandest cities - home to the famous Central Deborah Gold Mine, historic Bendigo Pottery, and the fabulous Golden Dragon Museum.

Built on one of the world's richest goldfields, Bendigo's Victorian-era architecture is truly unique, and never fails to impress our many visitors.

Bendigo has a population of over 100,000 and because we are north of the Great Divide we enjoy warm Summers, delightful Autumns, colourful Springs, and cosy Winters - with no snow!

Our many small towns and larger cities share a proud history dating from Victoria's bustling 1850's goldrushes. Much of this history lives on in the heritage architecture gracing Bendigo's grand boulevards, the unique Castlemaine Market precinct, or the quaint streetscapes of gold towns such as Maldon, Dunolly and Inglewood.

Our region is well served by major highways, railways, coach services and an airport - and many minor sealed roads can quickly take you to some facinating 'out of the way' places. From Melbourne, Bendigo is less than two hours drive up the Calder Highway.
