COONARA
Coonara has been held by the Merrylees family for 87 years and was originally part of the Groongal holding which is well known in the Carrathool district.
The sale of this property gives prospective purchasers an excellent opportunity to acquire a tremendously well set up property for intensive irrigation cropping programmes as well as carrying out a lucrative livestock program.
Coonara has a massive 10,268 megalitre Murrumbidgee river water entitlement in general security and supplementary licenses and is well known for its high yields. Various crops have been and still are grown including Faba beans, Maize, Sunflowers (world class yields), Canola, Wheat and Triticale. Pasture has also been used in crop rotations and with the central fertilizer fertigation system the controlled amounts required for each of the irrigation fields can always be assured.
Livestock have been part of Coonara operations and up until the mid 2000's they were used in rotation with cropping programmes.
Improvements on the property are excellent and ample. Grain and livestock are well catered for plus housing for the owners and the working staff.
Steeped in farming history it would be hard to go past Coonara as a wonderful property extremely well set up to generate good returns and located in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Food Bowl.
Aesthetically the property is truly magnificent - 5.8km river frontage, white sand beaches, acres and acres of majestic river red gums and a property associated with the history of the Riverina - "you cant ask for more". Enquiries and inspections highly recommended.
