Goss also ran his business nearby in Best Place from 1878 to 1882. In 1923, Thomas Henry Wollacott, a prominent local builder and contractor who served as the long-time Mayor of Burra (1930-37, 1939-47), became the proud owner. During his tenure, he added the current verandah, enhancing the home's classic appeal.
