The south west region of Western Australia is riding a wave of growth, with the price of housing in key locations on the increase and significant development occurring in these areas.
The south west is home to almost 200,000 people, making it the largest population base outside of Perth and Peel. The State Government is forecasting that number will rise to 230,000 in the coming years, a clear sign of the region’s growing popularity.
One such area benefiting from the influx in population is Bunbury. According to realestate.com.au data, Bunbury’s median house price rose from $535,000 to $868,500 through the five years to March, 2025.
Improving Market Brings Office Success
On the back of impressive market improvement comes incredible success and that could not be more applicable when it comes to the Elders Bunbury office.
At the recent Elders National Awards celebration, Elders Bunbury was recognised as the No.1 office nationally in the Elders network for both settled sales and gross commission.
Elders Real Estate Manager for WA, Drew Cary said the foundations for Bunbury’s success were laid over 8 years ago.
“At that time Elders undertook what was then the biggest real estate acquisition in the company’s history when it picked up 3 offices in Bunbury,” he explained.
“From there we used it as a place to grow and expand in the region, so what began as an initial hub has had more and more added to it over the years to become what it is now, the network’s No.1 office.”
Mr Cary said talent acquisition, the considered application of new technologies and improved processes had also contributed to the office’s success.
“As the business began to grow and mature, we brought on some really talented people who were attracted to the Elders brand. Through the solidity and solidarity of a team which has largely remained since the acquisition, Bunbury has grown into the success it is today.”
Bunbury Branch Manager, Kareena Johnson echoed Mr Cary’s sentiments, adding that over the past 12 months, the application of supportive processes had resulted in incredible office synergy.
“Over the past year, we’ve implemented real structure to help support the team to do their jobs well. We’ve worked to build trust between the team and management to not only support them in an office environment but on a personal level as well,” Ms Johnson said.
“We’ve now got a great bunch of people who work well together, support each other and really want to see everyone succeed.”
Team Success Brings Individual Accolades
It’s probably no surprise that as the No.1 office, you have a couple of stand out salespeople who have also been recognised on a National Level.
Elders Bunbury agents Anthony Schirripa and Roslyn Ierace both found themselves in the Top 10 agents nationally for settled sales and gross commission.
Mr Schirripa said strong client focus and a well-run business had resulted in both his and the office’s success.
“We’re really big on our clients. Making sure they are heard and focusing on what they really need from our interactions,” Mr Schirripa explained.
“There’s also been a real push on the marketing side of things. We’ve embraced new technologies and concentrated on servicing our databases effectively.”
While the above has certainly contributed to the office’s improvement, Mr Schirripa said it was the people that had really made the difference.
“There’s been some great people brought in which has resulted in a brilliant vibe around the office. Elders is an amazing place to work, a great brand with truly great support and great people.”
The Bunbury Market Now
From its stunning coastal towns to the serene rural landscapes, the South West region offers a unique blend of lifestyle and economic prospects that are increasingly attracting developers, investors and residents.
Mr Schirripa adding that prices remained strong on the back of 5 continued years of growth.
“While prices do vary a little the market is still flying. There’s been a lot of market activity post election and we expect that confidence to continue into the near future.”
